FORMATION OF NATIONAL-PATRIOTIC EDUCATION IN

EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS OF THE USSR 1985 – 1991:

EXPERIENCE OF PEDAGOGICAL INTELLIGENTSIA


Abstract. The article attempts to show the participation of patriotic teachers in strengthening the national-patriotic education of youth, which intensified nation-building trends. It is shown that in the patriotic and educational system of the Soviet Union the key role was played by the state and the public organizations, which was created by it.

It is argued important role in shaping worldviews, patriotic guidelines of school teachers, which in the conditions of «perestroika» addressed to the concept of a national school, that for its part, stimulated patriotic feelings. As a result, there was a great need in the educational process reviewing the subject of works of art of the school curriculum in literature, including those which were recommended for extracurricular reading. In this aspect, national education and upbringing were as a consolidating factor in the patriotic formation of youth with national characteristics and the formation of national memory.

It is found out that another necessary component of national-patriotic education was the study and popularization of the national language. In particular, restructuring in the study and teaching of the Ukrainian language was associated with the filling of «white spots», restoring the prestige of the Ukrainian language, overcoming deformations in the ratio of national and international.
