Article Requirements

The article should include the following components :

  • a problem statement in general terms and its relation to the important scientific or practical tasks;
  • analysis of the latest sources of research and publications aimed at solving the problem and those the author relies on, the selection of previously unresolved parts of the general problem the article is devoted to;
  • setting the aims of the article (problem statement);
  • presentation of the main research material with full justification of scientific results;
  • conclusions from the research and prospects for further developments in this field.

The authors of articles are solely responsible for the selection, accuracy of the given facts, quotes, proper names, geographical names and other information.

The editorial board is entitled to edit, reduce and refer the materials submitted for publication back to the author for further refinement.

The authors should submit articles specially written for “The Journal of Ukrainian History” that have not previously been published, or accepted in other publications.

Articles can be submitted in Ukrainian and English.

Manuscripts are accepted in hard copy, submitted or sent by the author for editorial purposes.

The volume of the main text of the article (without abstract and reference list) should be at least 0.5 p.p. ( 12 pages ) 21600-22000 characters with spaces.

The total amount shall not exceed 2 4 side pocket .

Articles that do not meet the above requirements are not accepted.

Journal Formatting Requirements

Margins: lower, upper , right, left - 2 cm.

Editor: MS Word.

Typeface: TimesNewRoman, line spacing – 1, 5; font – Times New Roman (size 14)

The text is typed without hyphenation.

Recommended Structure of Submitted Paper:

  • UDC code

Aligned to the right edge:

  • first name and surname of the author ( - s);
  • academic degree , title, position ( in full, Nominative Case );
  • institution the author represents, city , country ( in full, Nominative Case );
  • author's e-mail;
  • Author’s ID from ORCID, Researcher ID or Scopus ID.

Center Alignment:

  • The name of the article (in Ukrainian);

Page width:

  • abstract (in Ukrainian) should be structured and contain the following elements (aim, methods and methodology of research, results, conclusions ; minimum 1800 characters ) .
  • key words (in Ukrainian) - 5 -8 items.
  • the main text of the article ;
  • sources and references (list, in alphabetical order);
  • References formatted according to APA standard ( APA Style , American Psychological Association ) ;

On the right (in English) :

  • the name and surname of the author (s);
  • academic degree , title, position ( fully, in nominative case );
  • institution the author represents, city , country ( in full, Nominative Case );
  • author's electronic mailbox;
  • and explorer identifier ( ORCID ID, Researcher ID, Scopus ID )

Aligned to the right edge (in English):

  • first name and surname of the author ( - s);

Requirements for in-text citations:

In-text citations are put in brackets, with the sequence number of the source in the reference list and the page of the case file specified [ 10 , p. 6 ]. Subscript citations are not allowed.
