SOCIAL COHESION OF FRANCE: SPECIFICS OF CONSTRUCTION OF LANGUAGE POLICY AND NATIONAL UNITY
The article attempts to analyze the influence of the state language policy of France on the social Сohesion of society. It is shown how national interests prevail over political, economic, ideological, which are the foundation of foreign policy strategies, but only in the protection of national interests.
One of the priority directions of French diplomacy regarding the spread of the French language is argued. Emphasis is placed on the Francophonie, an institution that promotes democracy, peace, the French language and cultural diversity. Because, the French diplomatic corps uses mechanisms to popularize Francophonie and the French language bilateral and multilateral policy. And despite the fact that a huge number of immigrants go to France in the hope of a better life, the state strategy is significantly aimed at preventing the segregation of immigrant communities in order to preserve a single Cohesive society. France faces a difficult taskfinding methods of preserving the national identity of the French, with a steady increase in the number of Muslims in the state.
It is emphasized that for more than a century France has been and remainsa pioneer in the consistent implementation of a strong language policy. The currently in effect Law "Law 94-665 of August 4, 1994on the use of the French language "or the so-called Tubon Law, according to which the French language is the main element of the identity and national heritage of France. French language has a special place in the world because it is used on five continents. Since its inception, it has been and remains an important element of spiritual culture, acted as a core of social Сohesion and self-identification of the French population, contributed to the formation of customs, traditions, values.
