DIGITALIZATION OF THE EDUCATIONAL PROCESS IN UKRAINIAN INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION (ON THE EXAMPLE OF THE EDUCATIONAL PLATFORM Moodle)


Translating information into digital form using the online platform Moodle made it possible to provide distance learning in Ukraine in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic. The article traces the history of the creation, development and implementation of the Moodle learning platform in the global education system in general, and in Ukrainian education in particular; It has been proven that the online learning platform Moodle, thanks to its openness and free of charge, allows higher education institutions to use innovative technologies in the educational process with distance learning.The electronic platform Moodle provides both teachers and students with modern tools for organizing and conducting educational, scientific, gaming activities, both individual and group, by correspondence and full-time; Moodle educational platform has been found to be attractive to users for good reasons. The advantage of the system is that it is free, but its maintenance requires a specialist of the appropriate level, who will have to pay a lot of money for its configuration and support.Also, the control panels of the Moodle platform are quite complex, so it will take time to study their work. At the same time, the vast majority of higher education managers prefer to save money, preferring to use the Moodle platform for learning and testing, which offers users a set of features completely free of charge, which ensures the effectiveness of distance learning; It was established that the educational platform has proven to be a reliable, efficient, free educational system for providing distance learning in higher education institutions of Ukraine.
