THE THEMES OF COSSACKS IN THE WORKS OF WRITERS FROM THE 1950s TO THE 1970s

The aim of this research is to analyze the work of prominent poets and writers who focus on Cossack themes, with the goal of determining their contribution to Ukrainian literary heritage. The study is based on theoretical developments and concepts from domestic scholars in the field of source studies and is conducted using general scientific methods of analysis and synthesis, adhering to the principles of historicism and objectivity. The research employs methods of source criticism, chronological, systematic, typological analysis, and content analysis.

The scientific novelty of the research lies in the systematization and analysis of literary works on Cossack themes, with an emphasis on their impact on the formation of the national identity of the Ukrainian people. This study opens new perspectives for understanding cultural processes and the mechanisms of national self-awareness through the lens of literary works about the Cossacks.

The conclusions of the work demonstrate a comprehensive analysis of the literary creativity of poets and writers with a focus on Cossack themes. The article reveals how poets and writers interpreted and portrayed the history of the Cossacks and how these portrayals influenced the formation of the image of the Cossacks in their works. The impact of ideology and official narratives on the creation of the Cossack image in literature is analyzed. The results shed light on important aspects of Ukrainian literary heritage and contribute to understanding its significance in the contemporary cultural context.
