EVOLUTION OF THE SUBJECT SPACE OF THE HOUSE INTERIOR
OF THE DNIEPRYAN REGION (XIX - XX CENTURIES)
Relevance of the topic. The article studies the house interior of the Dnipro region of Ukraine ХІХ-ХХ century, as a component of the traditional life of Ukrainians. Based on the analysis of a wide range of sources, the characteristic features of the traditional interior are highlighted, household items are analyzed, and the layout of the living space with the functional distribution and location of each of its parts is analyzed: furnishing the living area, filling it with household utensils and folk art objects, which is an important component of the material culture of Ukrainians ХІХ-ХХ century.
The purpose of this article is to analyze the main elements of the interior, their functional and aesthetic meaning, which formed and filled the subject space of the peasant dwelling ХІХ-ХХ century.
Special attention is paid to the preservation of traditions in the process of changes caused by modernization and urbanization processes.
During 2011-2013, the author of the article conducted a partial survey of the Baryshivsky and Boryspil districts of the Kyiv region, the Zolotonysky and Kanivsky districts of the Cherkasy region, and the Chornukhynsky district of the Poltava region. The collected field materials, as well as relevant archival materials, are the basis of this article.
The subject of the study is the planning and role of housing with its numerous attributes in the preservation and popularization of the ethnocultural heritage of Ukrainians. Using the example of the Kyiv, Cherkasy, and Poltava regions, the article characterizes the division of housing into conditional parts and analyzes the deep symbolic meaning that Ukrainians attached to all items of the home interior.
The scientific novelty lies in the fact that for the first time, based on a comprehensive analysis of written, material, archival, artistic works, architectural, and field materials, the features of the interior of Dnieper Ukraine in the second half of the twentieth century have been highlighted and analyzed in the context of the mutual influence of folk traditions and church canons. Having studied the subject space of the house interior of the villages of the Dnieper Ukraine, important knowledge was obtained about the features of the domestic culture of Ukrainians in the second half of the ХІХ-ХХ century.
The practical significance of the results obtained is that the materials and conclusions of the article can contribute to the development and creation of museum ethnographic expositions, ethnographic exhibitions; used in the preparation of scientific and scientific-methodical works on this topic.
Key words: interior, household utensils, furniture, traditional life, Dnieper Ukraine.
