«The Journal of Ukrainian history» encourages submissions of previously unpublished scholarly articles on topics of significance to those concerned with the problems of ethnic history, cultural anthropology, ethnology from ancient to recent history. We do not accept papers that have been published or are under consideration for publication elsewhere.
The editorial staff does not charge any submission or processing fee.
Margins: lower, upper, right, left - 2 cm. The text must be provided in Times Nev Roman font, 14 pts, maximum 24 pages. Abstracts in English (300 words).
The article should provide a clear statement of the problem, the relevant literature on the subject and the proposed approach or solution. Argumentation, as the main part of the paper, should offer the analysis of the subject, based on the specific evidences. Conclusions should be presented with clarity and precision, and should be explained, but largely without referring to the literature and should interpret the findings in view of the results obtained. Illustrations and tables should be progressively numbered, following the order cited in the text.
Abstract in English (1800 characters), as well as key terms (not exceeding 7), should accompany the article. Clear adherence to formatting rules and high-quality English abstract texts are necessary conditions for the publication of articles.
The abstracts should include the following key elements, written in paragraphs:
Purpose – a description of the main goal or intention, specifying what researchers are attempting to clarify, prove, or achieve through their study.
Methods – a description of the research methodology, research tools, procedures, and any other methods employed for data collection and analysis.
Results – presentation of factual information obtained as a result of the research.
Conclusions – the final paragraph where authors analyze the obtained results and draw conclusions regarding their significance and potential implications; conclusions may also include recommendations for further research or application of the obtained results.
References to sources in the text are given in the following manner: [1, p. 12], where 1 is the source number in the list of used sources, 12 is the page. References to several sources are simultaneously provided as follows: [8; 14; 16] or [3, p. 12; 5, p. 11; 10, p. 333]. References to archival sources – [19, p. 125].
The literature is designed in accordance with the requirements of «DSTU 8302: 2015. Bibliographic reference. General Terms and rules of assembly», of July 1, 2016.
References are made according to the APA standard.
