1. General Principles
Archiving is an integral part of the journal’s sustainability policy and guarantees the preservation of scholarly results for future generations of researchers.
The journal «The Journal of Ukrainian history» ensures reliable long-term preservation, availability, and continuity of access to all published materials in open access in accordance with international digital archiving standards.
2. Repositories and Preservation Systems:
- all issues of the journal are archived on the platform "Scientific Periodicals of Ukraine" of the V. I. Vernadsky National Library of Ukraine of the NAS of Ukraine;
- all issues of the journal are archived in the M. Maksymovych Scientific Library (http://www.library.univ.kiev.ua/ukr/fonds/univmag/poshuk.php3?them_key=%D7%E0%F1%EE%EF%E8%F1%20%F3%EA%F0%);
- the journal ensures the archiving of its materials in Google Scholar for long-term preservation and discoverability.
Each published article:
- remains permanently available on the journal’s website without time limitations;
- is assigned a unique DOI (Digital Object Identifier), which guarantees the stability and long-term persistence of the reference.
3. Technical Means and Preservation Formats
The journal’s archival files are stored in PDF and HTML formats for web access.
The server infrastructure is equipped with a system of regular backups (both on-site and off-site).
Reliable server mirroring technologies and data integrity verification methods (checksum control) are used.
4. Accessibility Guarantees
The journal adheres to an Open Access policy: all articles are freely available without restrictions on time or the number of downloads.
In the event of the journal’s discontinuation, all archival materials will remain in open access through institutional repositories.
